A 43-year-old Bismarck man was treated at a hospital for a self-inflicted injury after a police response Monday afternoon to Manitoba Lane in north Bismarck.

He also was committed for a psychiatric evaluation, police reported.

Manitoba Lane was closed between East Century Avenue and Montreal Street as the West Dakota SWAT team attempted to make contact with the man inside a home, believing there to be risk to responders at the time.

Manitoba Lane reopened around 5:30 p.m. Monday.
