The man shot at a mobile home in Mandan two months ago is accused of flooding parts of the Burleigh-Morton County Detention Center in December.

Spencer St. Claire, 22, is jailed and charged with felony criminal trespass, related to when Eric Harrison Jr. reportedly shot him on Dec. 2 at Harrison's residence.

St. Claire is now charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief for allegedly breaking a sprinkler head, causing water to spray inside his cell and begin to flood the mezzanine and lower levels of booking.

Jail staff reportedly then removed St. Claire and "put him in the restraint chair." Court documents say damages totaled $150 from the Dec. 22 incident.

Maj. Steve Hall, of the Burleigh County Sheriff's Department, said costs are largely related to cleanup and replacing the sprinkler head.

He added that about three such incidents of inmates breaking sprinkler heads have occurred since June.

"It's more cleanup than anything," Hall said.

St. Claire had reportedly been moved to the cell "due to behavior issues."

His trial for criminal trespass is set for May. He has pleaded not guilty.
