A Fort Yates man faces a range of charges after police say he fled and tried to hide in a trailer when they stopped him for allegedly pawning stolen tools.

Donald Duane Redhorn, 40, is charged with felony attempted criminal trespass and misdemeanor counts of preventing arrest, methamphetamine possession and theft.

Bismarck Police responded to a South Bell Street pawn shop Wednesday afternoon where Redhorn was allegedly trying to pawn an angle grinder, cordless drill driver and socket set reported as stolen. Redhorn reportedly told police a friend gave him the tools and he didn't know they were stolen.

Court documents say police tried to detain Redhorn but he fled after an officer took him to the ground when Redhorn reportedly tried to pull and push away.

He allegedly tried to enter a trailer on 700 block of West Sweet Avenue. The resident said he heard a loud bang that shook the side of his trailer. Police reportedly saw Redhorn on the trailer's front step.

Police allegedly found a baggie of suspected meth in Redhorn's backpack, court documents say.
