The driver who collided with a young boy at a bus stop has been cited for overtaking and passing a school bus.
Kayode Folorunsho, a 49-year-old Bismarck man, was cited last week for the traffic offense from Feb. 13. Court records indicate his arraignment will be next week before Bismarck Municipal Judge William Severin.
Bismarck Police Sgt. Mark Buschena previously said a 6-year-old boy ran into the roadway of East Rosser Avenue at North 20th Street, toward a school bus that reportedly had its stop arm extended and lights on.
Folorunsho was reportedly westbound when the boy was hit and knocked down by his passenger front door and taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The boy is at least the second child in three months to be struck at a school bus stop in Bismarck. An 11-year-old girl also was struck in November while crossing to a stopped and flashing bus.
