Two people face child abuse charges on accusations they were too drunk to care for their toddler.

Sharina Brown, 30, and Tracy White Eagle, 40, were charged Tuesday with Class C felony child abuse. White Eagle also was charged with Class C felony terrorizing.

According to an affidavit from Burleigh County Sheriff’s Deputy Ray Dingeman, officers were called to housing at United Tribes Technical College for a report of two intoxicated people. Deputies found Brown and White Eagle with a 22-month-old and determined both were too intoxicated to care for the child.

Brown was identified as the mother of the child and White Eagle as the father.

Brown told officers White Eagle had threatened her with a knife, Dingeman wrote. The affidavit said White Eagle had a cut on his hand, and deputies found a knife with blood on it nearby.
