Both hospitals in Bismarck have visitor restrictions in place in response to the number of influenza cases and the severity of the flu season.
CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck announced Wednesday visitation is limited throughout the hospital to immediate family. Patients entering the hospital with flu-like symptoms are required to wear masks.
The restrictions remain in place until "the threat of influenza has passed and returned to normal and seasonal levels," according to a statement from the hospital.
There have been 2,520 cases of the flu reported in North Dakota, according the state Department of Health's weekly flu snapshot, which includes data through Jan. 13. There have been 10 reported deaths and 146 hospitalizations.
