Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health is offering free lactation counselors and a clinic for mothers with breastfeeding questions.
The public health unit is the recipient of a North Dakota Department of Health five-year grant, which aims to increase breastfeeding rates for infants at 6 months of age in Burleigh County.
Bismarck-Burleigh Health has lactation counselors available Monday through Friday, and a weekly clinic Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, which is offered at no cost.
Lactation counselors offer education related to milk supply, latching and various approaches to breastfeeding.
