Bismarck and Mandan fire departments said a company selling ads at local businesses is a “scam.”

A company called Firehouse Promotions is contacting local businesses to sell advertisements and solicit donations. The company is selling ad space on magnetic boards that contain emergency phone numbers and fire safety tips. Salesmen are claiming the magnetic boards will then be distributed by firefighters throughout the local community.

Bismarck Fire Chief Joel Boespflug has been in contact with other fire departments and said none of the Bismarck- Mandan departments are doing business with Firehouse Promotions and are not “participating or associated with them in any way.”

An email from the Tribune to Firehouse Promotions went unanswered Thursday afternoon. A receptionist for the company said he was unaware of any sales by Firehouse in the Bismarck area.
