A doorman working outside Lucky Duck's Deli and Catering in Bismarck was assaulted early Friday morning.

The victim, a 32-year-old man, was approached by three men attempting to enter the establishment, according to police who responded to the incident at 12:22 a.m. Friday.

The 32-year-old man told police he was concerned about the validity of the ID's the three men gave him. He confronted them about it, and they became "hostile," he told police.

One of the men pulled out a "slim and silver" object and allegedly swiped it at the bouncer. The bouncer said he shoved the man away, and then the other two men attacked him, repeatedly striking him in the head and chest.

The doorman had no visible injuries, but said he had injured his finger and complained of head pain.

Several witness told police they saw the suspects flee the scene in a silver Land Rover without license plates. Police plan to review video surveillance outside the establishment.
