Bismarck Public Schools will host three community meetings next month to address concerns over sexting.

The district is collaborating with the Bismarck Police Department to hold meetings at the district's three middle schools. Youth workers, school resource officers and school administrators will be on a panel that will discuss sexting, or taking and sharing nude or semi-nude photographs.

Renae Hoffman-Walker, director of communications for BPS, said these meeting are held in response to an "uptick" in student sexting last school year.

These sessions will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at Wachter Middle School, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 at Horizon Middle School and from 4 ro 5 p.m. Oct. 25 at Simle Middle School. Parents are encouraged to attend, and child care will be provided.
