Authorities say an 80-year-old man who had been driving a wagon with a team of horses was found dead in a Morton County pasture.

Sheriff Dave Shipman says it appears the horses got spooked by something and took off. He says the man apparently was thrown from the wagon and may have been kicked or stepped on by one of the horses.

The Bismarck man was found dead shortly before 5 p.m. His name was not immediately released.
