KENMARE - A tractor overturned near here, killing the driver after he was pinned under it, Ward County officials say.

Authorities said Kenneth Lawson, 67, of Tioga, was dead on arrival at a Kenmare hospital after the accident Sunday afternoon.

Lawson was driving a tractor that was pulling a burned-out vehicle through weeds when he struck a piece of iron and the tractor flipped over, Ward County Sheriff's Deputy Jaimi Kenyon said.

The accident happened about 5:50 p.m., about seven miles northeast of Kenmare, the deputy said.
