Medora - A public meeting to get input on a range of alternatives for a Little Missouri River crossing north of Medora will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 17 at the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Medora. It will be conducted by the Federal Highway Administration and Kadrmas, Lee and Jackson Engineers. A second meeting on the topic will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 22 at the Best Western Doublewood Inn in Bismarck.

Bowman - A workshop by the authors of "Tracing Your Family Roots," will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 7 at the Bowman Public Library. Cost is $35 and includes workshop, a copy of the book and help in telling your own family story. It's sponsored by the North Dakota Council on the Arts.

Dunn Center - The Dunn Center Public Library will serve a continental breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday and a free will offering will be taken. A used book sale will be held during the breakfast. Everyone is welcome.

Linton - The Linton American Legion will sponsor its annual Fourth of July parade. Entries need simply line up at 10 a.m. at the Linton Concrete Plant. Prizes will go for most patriotic, most creative, best Western, best antique, best comedy, best walking, best classic vehicle and favorite children's float.

Carson - Everyone is invited to a potluck Fourth of July supper at the Carson City Park, followed by fireworks. Also, the Dogtooth Antique Tractor Club will hold its fifth annual trek from Flasher to Raleigh Saturday, ending with a parade in Raleigh.

Regent - A special meeting of the Mott-Regent School Board will be held at 7 tonight at the Regent gym. Among topics of discussion will be the future of the Regent site, where all students grades five through eight attend, and the Mott site, where all students kindergarten through grade four attend.
New England - A 74-mile, 230 kV electric transmission mine is planned for construction between Belfield and Rhame. Basin Electric Power Cooperative is the applicant. The Public Service Commission will hold a hearing on Basin's application for a time and procedure waiver at 10 a.m. July 29 at the Memorial Hall in New England.

Steele - Kidder County Fair and 4-H Achievement Days will be held July 9-12 at various sites in Steele. A free burger night will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 12 behind the courthouse and a concert by "Loose Connection" will be held starting at 9 p.m. July 12 at the Steele AMVETS Club.

The evening will start at 5:30 p.m. with an optional nine-hole golf scramble, followed by a 6:30 p.m. social and 7:30 p.m. dinner. McKenzie County is sponsor of the event.

Fort Stevenson State Park - The Garrison Bay boat ramp at Fort Stevenson State Park will be closed today and Tuesday for completion of the new marina access road and parking lot. Work will involve grading and graveling in preparation for paving. The park will remain open and anyone who wants information about alternate ramp locations can contact the park at 337-5576.

Hazen - The seventh annual Ride and Rod Benefit Run will begin with registration at 10 a.m. Saturday at Jimmy's Lounge in Hazen. The annual run is staged as a benefit, and this year's beneficiary is Carlyle Sailer, who needs help with medical expenses. Fessenden - A garden tour will leave from the Wells County Fairgrounds at Fessenden at 8 a.m. July 14 and transportation will be provided. The tour is a project of the Wells County Soil Conservation District and preregistration is required by Tuesday. For information, call 547-3622, or 962-3650. Cost is $20 and the tour will be held if more than 10 people register.
