Minot men take cash in Cup

Minot men Nathan Anderson and Scott Strilcov caught some of the priciest walleye on Lake Sakakawea. They netted almost $330.50 a pound for the 30.25 pounds of Walleye caught in the North Dakota Governor's Cup. The tournament paid out $10,000 to the team reeling in the heaviest catch over two days at Fort Stevenson State Park.

Anderson and Strilcov caught 10 fish during the tournament, catching 26.6 pounds the first day and 3.65 pounds the second day. The tournament maximum was 10 fish.

Coming in second was Jim Wright and Jason Wright, of Bismarck, with 28.8 pounds, third place was Walter Racine and Mike Reishus, with 28.65 pounds, fourth place was Brian Walter and Alan Walter, of Minot, with 27.35 pounds, fifth place was Rick Olson and Chad Olson, of Underwood, with 27.3 pounds, sixth place was Dennis Jeffrey and David Jeffrey, with 22.4 pounds, seventh place was Dave Parizek, of Minot, and Barron Parizek, of Epping, with 21.7 pounds, eighth place was Ed Bullinger and Garth Blumhardt, of Bismarck, with 21.55 pounds, ninth place was Mark Gabel, of Bismarck, and Shannon Kehl, of Menoken, with 20.5 pounds and tenth place was Justin Hauff, of Bismarck, and Jason Hauff, of Grandin, with 20.1 pounds.

The state team with the heaviest haul of walleye won the Governor's Cup. This distinction went to Racine and Reishus, of Velva.
