A kitchen fire caused moderate to extensive damage to an apartment at 317 S. 11th St. in Bismarck on Saturday night.

No one was injured in the blaze in unit No. 3 of the 12-plex apartment complex, a press release from the Bismarck Police Department said. The apartment was deemed uninhabitable from the damage.

Due to slight smoke damage to the other units, it was unknown if the residents of the other 11 apartments would be able to return to their residences on Saturday night.

The Red Cross was on the scene to provide assistance.
