AMandan man may be regretting calling a convenience store in search of his lost property.
William Sandwick, 18, was charged Friday with possession of paraphanalia, a Class A misdemeanor, and possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.
Burleigh County Sheriff's Lt. Nick Sevart said a clerk at a convenience store northwest of Bismarck called the sheriff's department on Thursday to report finding a baggie of marijuana.
The clerk, a 21-year-old Bismarck man, told deputies three men had come into the store, bought a few items and left. Another man found the baggie and told the clerk he thought one of the three men had dropped the bag, Sevart said.
He said the clerk recognized the substance in the bag as marijuana and called the sheriff's department.
Two deputies went to the store. While they were there, a man called and asked the store clerk if he had found a baggie of marijuana, Sevart said. The clerk told him he had, and the man said he would come pick it up.
The deputies moved their squad cars down the road and returned to the store. The clerk gave the man back his marijuana, and deputies materialized to question the Sandwick about it.
Upon arresting him for possession of marijuana, the deputies also found a glass drug pipe in his pocket.
