WILLISTON (AP) - A selection committee has chosen a veteran of the Williston police force as its new chief.
The City Commission is expected to accept the committee's recommendation of Jim Lokken at its May 27 meeting.
Lokken has been the deputy for Chief Don Wentz, who's retiring. Lokken is a 33-year veteran of the department, and currently holds the rank of captain.
Wentz has been with the department for more than four decades, and has been the chief the past 17 years. His retirement is effective at the end of the month.
