Bismarck police detained four men believed to be illegal immigrants.

Lt. Randy Ziegler said officers investigating a separate matter encountered the men at a Bismarck hotel at 7:36 p.m. Thursday.

The Border Patrol told officers to hold the men, Ziegler said. They are being held at the Burleigh County Detention Center.
