A radio station in Detroit is challenging North Dakota's snow angel world record.
The Guinness mark for most snow angels made simultaneously in one place was set February 17 last year, on the state Capitol grounds in Bismarck. The area was covered with 8,962 people flapping their arms and legs at the same time on the snow-covered ground.
This weekend, WDTW-FM in Detroit is hoping to get enough people together to break the record.
Marilyn Snyder is curator of education for the State Historical Society of North Dakota, and organized North Dakota's record. She says she's not pleased that the Detroit station known as 106.7 The Fox says on its Web site that the record belongs to "losers from North Dakota."
