A Catholic church in the rural valley of Haymarsh will be the scene of a special prayer event for farmers.
St. Clement's Catholic Church will hold its Corpus Christi celebration at 10:30 a.m. May 25 at the church northeast of Hebron.
The intercession will include a rosary at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass and an outdoor Eucharistic procession and benediction. Prayers will be offered for protection from storms, insects and droughts.
Young girls between ages 5 and 12 are invited to serve as flower girls in the procession and are asked to bring a basket of flower petals and wear a modest dress. They should be at the church by 10:15 a.m.
The church will hold a potluck at the priest house at noon.
Everyone is welcome.
The church, which is used only for special events, is located in the historic farming area of Haymarsh and is being restored with help from Preservation North Dakota.
St. Clements is north of exit 108 on Interstate-94, four miles north west, 1.5 miles west and two miles north.
