A fire at a Bismarck home Monday morning caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.
Police Sgt. Mark Buschena said Hilbert Gums, 61, reported that his dog woke him up to a house full of smoke Monday morning.
Gums and the dog made it out of the house without injury, Buschena said. He said Gums had neighbors call 911 at 6:36 a.m.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire at 2022 St. Joseph's Drive quickly, Buschena said.
