FARGO (AP) - Cass County prosecutors have charged a Fargo insurance agent with 78 felonies accusing him of stealing more than $5 million from clients.

Larry Atkins, 65, is charged with engaging in fraudulent practices, selling unregistered securities, transacting business as an unregistered agent and exploiting a vulnerable adult.

North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm ordered Atkins to stop selling insurance in late April.

A spokesman for defense attorney Jeff Bredahl said Bredahl was not available for comment this morning.
