A Bismarck man has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly attempting to strangle his wife.
Christopher Timm, 21, was charged with the Class C felony Monday.
South Central District Judge Robert Wefald set bond for Timm at $1,000 cash or surety.
Bismarck Police Sgt. Mark Buschena said officers were called to the 700 block of South Washington at 2:03 p.m. Saturday for a fight call. Witnesses said Timm had choked his 20-year-old wife.
Buschena said the woman did not report losing consciousness, but she had injuries to her neck and throat and was having difficultiy breathing.
Timm was located a block away and arrested.
