NEW TOWN — Sharon Young Wolf “Hish-shua Idatsh”, 61, New Town, left this Earth July 25, 2017. Services were held July 29 at Johnny Bird Memorial Center, New Town, with the Rev. Cary Enno officiating. Burial was at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, with military honors provided by the Myron B Johnson-Nathan Good Iron Post No. 271.
Sharon was born on Nov. 25, 1955, to Frank Young Wolf and Naomi Foolish Bear. Sharon was a member of the Prairie Chicken Clan and child of the Low Cap Clan. She was raised, educated and lived most of her life in the New Town area. At the age of 26, Sharon enlisted in the U.S. Army and served her country with honor. She traveled to many countries in her three years of service, her favorite being Germany.
Sharon worked for Indian Health Services for many years locally, as well as in Montana and South Dakota. Her most recent career was as a land agent for various oil companies. She enjoyed picking up friends and family for company while cruising the rez getting signatures.
Most of her free time was spent with her grandchildren, visiting her family and many friends, or hanging out at the casino. She loved traveling to warm places, Las Vegas, Arizona, and New Mexico, in particular.
Sharon will be deeply missed by her daughters, Kylene Fitzsimmons, Mandan, and Carlyn Fitzsimmons, New Town; her grandchildren, Cedar and Oakley (Carlyn); and a sister, Lyda Foote, Mandan.
She will be welcomed into Heaven by many family and friends.
