Sign-up for the 2017-2018 Bismarck/Mandan Rifle and Pistol Association’s Junior Marksmanship Program will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Johnson Family Marksmanship Center, 4667 Skyway in south Bismarck.
Goals of the program, which is in its 25th year, are to learn firearms safety and marksmanship. Many of the juniors in this program have gone on to compete at state and national competitions, including the National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships held each year at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The program, which runs through March 22, is for young adults 12 to 20 years old. Cost is $40. All the equipment is provided including rifles, spotting scopes, shooting jackets, gloves, slings, shooting mats, eye and ear protection. 22 ammo is not provided. Instruction is provided by NRA-certified instructors and coaches. Call 255-4601 for more information.
