Solo with orchestra
Tiffany Peterson, a junior at Century High School in Bismarck, successfully auditioned to solo with the Minot Symphony Orchestra on Feb. 3. She is the daughter of Marlin and Leslie Peterson.
Peterson will be featured at “Gaia,” Mother Earth, part of the orchestra’s 2017-18 concert series The Wheel of Fortune. The performance is at 7:30 p.m. in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall at Minot State University.
Peterson is a member of the CHS Chamber Orchestra, was principal cellist in the North Dakota Middle Honors Orchestra for two years and performed in the 2015 Middle School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall. She played in the cello section of the North Dakota High School All State Orchestra in 2016, and was principal cellist in 2017. She plays with the Bismarck- Mandan Symphony Youth Orchestra and Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra and was the junior division winner of the 2016-17 Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition, which featured her concerto performance with the BMSO. She studies privately with Natalia Vacarciuc.
Peterson is also a trombonist and plays in the CHS Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band.
