Aiding coin effort

Bismarck AMVETS recently held a spaghetti and meatball supper event that raised more than $800 for the Commemorative Memorial Coin project.

The goal is to give a special coin to a family member deceased North Dakota veterans during military funeral honors. Following legislative action, the state’s Department of Veterans Affairs began to collect donations to design and produce at least 4,000 coins.

The NDDVA still needs about $10,000 to get the program started. To learn more, visit www.nd.gov/veterans/support-veterans.
