Wheaton College student Ethan Hinkel performed in "Messiah, Prince of Peace," the 2017 Christmas Festival presented by the Wheaton (Ill.) College Conservatory of Music.
Hinkel, of Minot, sang bass with the concert choir.
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln conferred 1,505 degrees during commencement exercises Dec. 15-16.

Kari Moch, Edgeley, has been named Dickinson State University’s 2017-18 Student Nurse of the Year and will compete for the state title during the Nursing Students’ Association of North Dakota convention in January in Dickinson.
Angie Decker, Belfield, was among junior nursing candidates for the title at DSU.
Moch was also recently selected for a summer nurse externship in Bismarck with Sanford Health, working in the intensive care unit. After she graduates next year she plans to continue working in critical care to gain experience so she can become involved in medical missions.
