Ron and Opal Erickson in concert at Mandan Nazarene July 28

Ron and Opal Erickson will be at Mandan Nazarene Church, 4209 Old Red Trail, at the 9:30 a.m. July 28 worship service.

The Ericksons are three-time recipients of the International Christian Gospel Music Associations Duo of the Year Award, former official ambassadors on the road for the former Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Theater and Museum in Branson, Mo., and featured musicians in Branson.

A potluck lunch will be served following the concert.

Post-abortion retreat offered for men and women

A Rachel’s Vineyard retreat will be offered Aug. 23-25 for men and women struggling with issues following abortion. The retreat will be held in the Bismarck area and is sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Bismarck. The location is released to people after they’ve registered.

Rachel’s Vineyard offers a chance to focus on issues people may be struggling with in a supportive and non-judgmental process, according to Theresa Burke, author of the Rachel’s Vineyard retreat.

Married couples, mothers, fathers, grandparents and siblings and others impacted by abortion are welcome, even after many years after their experience.

Participation in a Rachel’s Vineyard retreat is confidential and open to individuals of all faiths. For more information or to register, call Carol at 605-374-5639.

Vacation Bible School in Mandan starts Sunday

Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church in Mandan starts Sunday and runs through Thursday.

Hours are 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each day. There is no charge to attend. Children from preschool age through sixth grade are welcome.

First Baptist Church is at 1100 Collins Ave.

Summer event planned by Charity women

A women’s summer event, “Women at the Well,” is being planned by the Charity Lutheran Women in Mission for Christ.

Tickets must be purchased in advance by Monday.

An evening cruise of the Missouri River on the Lewis and Clark Riverboat is planned; featured speaker is Stacy Sturm, with the God’s Child Project, and an informational presentation on the Wellspring Project.

The cruise starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Lewis and Clark Riverboat at the Port of Bismarck, 1700 River Road. A catered picnic supper will be served.

The cost is $20 per person, payable at Charity Lutheran, 120 Aspen Ave.

Century Baptist kids’ event is July 22-26

A summer kids’ event called Kingdom Rock will be hosted by Century Baptist Church in Bismarck July 22-26.

Activities include Bible learning, singing, teamwork games, food and more.

Kingdom Rock is for children age 4 to sixth grade and will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. each day. Family and friends are invited to a time called Fanfare Finale each day at 8:40 p.m. to review the activities of the day.

The sessions will include assisting an international missions effort directed toward children in India.
