St. Joseph's Brunch offers food, jazz

Mandan’s St. Joseph’s Knights of Columbus Council #2760 will host a Mother’s Day Celebration Jazz Brunch from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 14 at St. Joseph’s Church, 410 Collins Ave. in Mandan.

The brunch, which benefits FirstChoice Clinic, includes an omelet stations, brats station, beignet station, Alfredo station, a salad and fruit section and beverage station.

Catholic Daughters Card party held March 19

Bismarck Catholic Daughters hosts a card party of whist, pinnochle and bridge at 7 p.m. March 19 at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit church, 519 Raymond St. Cash prizes will be awarded. Admission is $ 5. Call 221-2818 for more information.

Doulas contribute to Water Is Life Series

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship & Church offers "The Beginning," presented by Nicole Dammert and Megan Carranza on Sunday as part of its Water Is Life Series. Doulas — professional birth companions — will share their experiences with birth and the all-encompassing presence of water. 

Dammert is a mother, doula, retired veterinarian and Peruvian living in North Dakota. Carranza, also a mom and daughter, is from North Dakota. Her career has involved working with immigrants, adult education, veterans and being a doula.

Sunday services at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship & Church, 818 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck, are at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
