Quartet performs at barbecue
The LeFevre Quartet will present a program at the annual STEER Barbecue at 5 p.m. July 15. Since 1921, the LeFevre name has been known in Southern gospel music.
The quartet strives to reach the masses with a message of hope, grace and salvation through Jesus Christ and is known for vocals, high energy performances and a heart for ministry.
The public event includes a barbecue at GracePoint Church, 205 43rd Ave. in Bismarck. A freewill offering will be received to cover the cost of the meal and for the ministry of STEER.
Librarian leads service at UU Church
Kristine Kujawa, a librarian for the past 20 years and serving as the library director at Bismarck Public Library., will lead the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship & Church worship at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
This year marks a milestone for the public library. Those in attendance can watch the library's anniversary video, "Celebration 100 Years," and learn about the history of the public institution.
Kujawa also will touch on current library programs and services.
A picnic will follow the worship service held at the church, 818 E. Divide Ave. in Bismarck.
A Joyful Spirit retreat offered to girls
The Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery, in Bismarck, will host A Joyful Spirit retreat for girls ages 8 to 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 28.
Participants will have a unique opportunity to pray with the sisters, make new friends, enjoy faith-based games, crafts and storytelling. The day wraps up with the tradition of making s’mores on the patio.
“What makes this camp most special is that we try to help the girls recognize how God is a part of everything they do, whether it’s praying, playing, creating or socializing,” said Sister Hannah Vanorny, director of vocation ministry. “The awareness of God’s faithful presence is something they can carry with them into the future as they make important decisions about their lives and relationships.”

Women's Clubs to meet Thursday
Joyce Buseman from Centerville, S.D., will be the speaker for the three Christian Women's Clubs meeting on Thursday. Her theme is "Restoration after a Personal Tragedy and Loss."
Buseman is an insurance agent and a retired post master.
"You're a Grand Old Flag" is the theme of the Brunch Club, which meets at 9:30 a.m. at the Bismarck Eagles Club, 313 N. 26th St. Steve Harmon, of Bismarck, will be featured and provide music. Tickets are $8. Make reservations by calling 258-3397 by noon Monday.
