TUNING UP: Ben Schuler, left, and Dan Schuler, both of Wishek, tune up their instruments before the 11th annual Blizzard Bluegrass workshop in 2016 in Bismarck. Organizer Jill Wiese said the workshop is one of the weekend's anticipated events. "It's a learn-a-bluegrass-song workshop, and it's priceless," she said. "All bluegrass festivals have workshops, and these two hours are like a family reunion."

High Plains Tradition, of Denver, will headline the 13th annual Blizzard Bluegrass weekend at Bismarck State College.

Concerts, opened by Cotton Wood bluegrass band from Washburn, start at 7 p.m. Jan. 12-13 at the Sidney J. Lee Auditorium. Tickets are $15.

The headline band will be teaching a free “learn a bluegrass song workshop” from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 13.
