The Missouri Valley Chamber Orchestra presents its second concert of the season at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. George’s Episcopal Church, 601 N. Fourth St. in Bismarck.
The program, "String Crossings," contains a mix of early classical and contemporary selections from 17th century works by Tomaso Albinoni and J.S. Bach to 20th century composer Darius Milhaud. Various combinations of string instruments are featured.
Concerto a cinque Op. 5, No. 1 by Albinoni leads off the program, followed by “Ich habe genug” from Bach’s Cantata BWV 82 arranged by Peter Lang. Music then moves into the 20th century with Ernst von Dohnanyi’s Serenade Op. 10 and Milhaud’s Quartet No. 4. The program concludes with Luigi Boccherini’s Sextet Op. 23, No. 5.
