Two join salon

Miranda Jacob and Chantal Mack have joined Colour Lab Salon, 1121 N. 13th St. Suite 1, in Bismarck.

Jacob specializes in pedicures and manicures, dimensional colors, trendy cuts for men and women and Sparkle Toes.

Mack specializes in trendy cuts, bold colors, special occasion up-dos and makeup.

Braun recognized

Daryl Braun, a financial specialist located at 207 E. Front Ave., is Securian Financial Advisors of N.D. Inc.’s adviser of the month for October. He has been with the company since 2008.

Agents earn title

Bianco Realty agents June Barnhardt, Duane Bentz, Cindy Cooper, Kathy Feist, Darcy Fettig, Melanie Heck, Monica Kirkeide, Judy Maslowski, Pam Oase and Suzy Pfliiger recently earned senior real estate specialist designations.

Ledger presents

Kim Ledger, a certified registered nurse first assistant in the surgery department at Medcenter One, presented a research poster on the initial healing of sternum-area wounds at the 2011 Summer Institute on Evidence-Based Practice in San Antonio.

Ledger’s poster involved the use of autologous platelet gel.

Ledger has been with Medcenter One for 27 years.

Employees honored

October employee-of-the- month awards have been given by Midwest Business Systems to Lonnie Berg, Minot branch manager, digital solutions specialist; Jason Lantz, IT support specialist, peer-voted employee of the month; and Paul Heer, with the Jamestown branch, digital support specialist.

McKay hired

Emily McKay has been hired as the director of the Great Plains Energy Corridor.

This federally funded position is housed in the Bismarck State College National Energy Center of Excellence.

A former Peace Corps volunteer, McKay has worked in the energy industry for more than six years, most recently at Basin Electric Power Cooperative in Bismarck.

Marquart completes

Sheila Marquart, Bismarck, senior vice president of human resources at Starion Financial, recently completed the Advanced HR Management Seminar presented by the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Marquart also is a graduate of the University of Mary and the Dakota School of Banking sponsored by the North Dakota Bankers Association and has earned the designation of senior professional in human resources from the Human Resource Certification Institute.

She joined Starion Financial in 2008.

Two on staff

Nick Collins  and Jena Arteseros have been hired by Kadrmas, Lee & Jackson in Bismarck.

Collins is a CADD technician I with the survey group. He earned an associate’s degree in design drafting from Montana State University-Northern.

Arteseros is a field services coordinator with the environmental group. She earned a bachelor’s degree in history  from Dickinson State University. She most recently worked at the State Historical Society of North Dakota.


Int Veldt qualifies

Tiffany Int Veldt, with Cornerstone Financial Group in Bismarck, has completed the training necessary to sell life insurance, health insurance, Medicare supplements, long-term care and fixed annuities.

She earned bachelor of arts degrees in accounting and finance from the University of Mary.

Farmers honored

The 2011 Commissioner’s Dairy Producers Award for Excellence has been presented to Morton County dairy farmers Bryan and Vicki Hoesel and their son, Russ

Third-generation farmers, Bryan and Vicki Hoesel recently transferred management of the farm near New Salem to Russ. The Hoesels milk 115 cows and also raise wheat, barley, sunflowers and corn.

Nurses recognized

Four St. Alexius nurses were among those recently recognized as “nurse of the year” in 22 categories by the March of Dimes ND Chapter.

Angela Ross, oncology care, has been a nurse for 23 years.

Phyllis Ketterling, BSN, RN, emergency nurse, works in the Emergency and Trauma Center,

Susan Lardy, BSN, MSN, FNP, was recognized in the advanced practice nurse category.

Sandy Tschosik, BN, RN, received the community health nurse award.

Shipp advances

Steph Shipp was recently hired as an assistant manager at The Ground Round in Bismarck.

Shipp has worked at the restaurant for five years, and received its Hospitality Hero award.

Lawyers  listed

Thirteen lawyers with the Vogel Law Firm are included in 2011 Great Plains Super Lawyers. Five percent of the attorneys in the state are named to the list based on peer nominations, evaluations and third-party research.

The lawyers are Jerilynn Brantner Adams, Brenda Blazer, Jon Brakke, Mark Friese, Todd Haggart, Carlton Hunke, Angie Lord, Tami Norgard, John Petrik, Bruce Quick, Bob Udland, Nicholas Vogel and Daniel Vogel.

Kinney joins

Devin Kinney has joined Michael Jays Tattoo & Piercing in Northbrook Mall, Bismarck, as a tattoo artist.

Kinney, who specializes in custom tattoos, has four years’ experience and has worked in East Coast shops.

Staff recognized

Credit Collections Bureau, Bismarck, has selected employees of the month for October in three categories as follows: Bekah Stone, collector; Jared Olson and Kristie Bauer, client services representatives; and Jo Winefeldt, employee of the month.
