Mitchell promoted

Courtney Mitchell was recently promoted to credit tech at Choice Financial in Bismarck.

Mitchell was hired in August as a frontline specialist. She attended Bismarck State College.

Strand advances

Brenda Strand has been promoted to assistant manager of Denny’s in Bismarck.

Strand, a Bismarck native, started with Classic Restaurants, the company that owns Denny’s in Bismarck, in January 2018 as a hostess and server.

VanderLinden joins

John VanderLinden has joined Legacy Financial Partners, Bismarck, as a business development director.

VanderLinden has 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, the last 20 years as a qualified plans wholesaler.

Schnell qualifies

Ryan Schnell, Bismarck, has qualified for the 2017-18 Farmers Union Agents Summit, Farmers Union Insurance’s top sales honor. He is among 18 agents from North Dakota to qualify for this year’s top producer award.

Schnell also was a top-5 producer of auto insurance for the company in February. Schnell is the insurance agent for CCU Insurance Agency LLC.

Olson appointed

Jeff Olson, president/CEO of Credit Union Association of the Dakotas, has been appointed to committees on the board of directors of the American Association of Credit Union Leagues: Membership Dues Task Force, Political Involvement & Grassroots Committee and Regulatory Advocacy/Compliance Advisory Committee.

Two get awards

Sonia Ciavarella and Tracey Loe have been selected for HIT’s Achieved Excellence Award for the first quarter of 2018.

Ciavarella is a teacher in the Mandan Center of West River Head Start. She has been employed there for more than four years.

Loe is a manager of two of HIT’s group homes. Loe started with HIT as a direct support professional nearly 12 years ago.

Maring recertified

David S. Maring of Maring Williams Law Office P.C., has achieved recertification as a civil trial advocate through the National Board of Trial Advocacy. About 3 percent of American lawyers are board certified.

Maring has been a NBTA member in good standing for 30 years.

Hutchinson earns

Breanna Hutchinson, an internal auditor with Starion Bank in Mandan, has earned the certified internal auditor designation from the Institute of Internal Auditors based on an exam and other requirements.

Hutchinson joined Starion in 2011. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Dickinson State University and is also a certified community bank internal auditor.
