Ekstrom gets award

Brent Ekstrom, executive director of the Lewis & Clark Development Group, was named an outstanding leader in housing and community development by the National NeighborWorks Association.

Ekstrom received the Emerging Network Leader Award, which recognizes an executive director with fewer than five years with a NeighborWorks organization who has improved the value of his or her organization and the NeighborWorks Network.

Lewis & Clark Development Group is the only chartered NeighborWorks America member in North Dakota.

Wald qualifies

David Wald, with Securian Financial Advisors of N.D. in Mandan, has qualified for Top of the Table in the Million Dollar Round Table.

Top of the Table is the highest level of MDRT membership.

Promoted at BND

Tom Ternes and Bob Baier have been promoted at the Bank of North Dakota.

Ternes has become the education market manager. He joined BND in 2012 as a student loan manager. He has a degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Mary.

Baier was promoted to student loan default prevention and collection manager. He started at BND in 2002 as a collections officer. He has associate of arts and associate of applied science degrees from Bismarck State College and a bachelor's degree in applied science from Dickinson State University.

Krein attends

Tammy Krein, owner of Ken's Flower Shop in Bismarck, completed an Inspired Design three-day hands-on class in Sioux Falls, S.D., focusing on wedding trends and prom body flowers.

Promoted, hired

One person has been promoted and four hired at Starion Bank in Mandan.

Lauri Stokka has been promoted to mortgage operations specialist II. Stokka started at the bank in 2001 as a personal banker.

Richard Bigelow is a systems administrator. He earned a master’s degree in information security from Denver University and a bachelor’s degree from Minot State University.

Casey Carson and Brittney Roth are loan operations specialists.

Carson graduated from Dickinson State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and has more than 10 years of customer service and transaction processing experience.

Roth has banking and customer service experience.

McKayla Nielsen is a loan servicing assistant. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Mary and has customer service experience.
