Bismarck's Sears location is set to close in the company's latest round of liquidations.

The store, located in the Gateway Mall, 2700 State St., is scheduled to close in early April. The Bismarck location is one of 64 Kmart stores and 39 Sears slated to shut down nationwide, according to Sears Holdings.

"We will continue to close some unprofitable stores as we transform our business model so that our physical store footprint and our digital capabilities match the needs and preferences of our members," the company said in a statement.

Though the company hasn't said how many of its employees would be impacted.

Liquidation sales will begin as early as Jan. 12

Sears shares have fallen more than 60 percent over the past 12 months. The Auto Center portion of the Sears at Gateway Mall was closed in April.
