Basin Electric Power Cooperative has hired Heather Schlenker to the position of administrative secretary-engineering clerk at its headquarters. Schlenker, a native of Hallock, Minn., has a bachelor of science degree from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn.
Massage center
Four former Hair Hospital massage therapists joined to open Neuromuscular Massage and Detox Center located at 509 Burlington St. S.E. in Mandan.
Denise Wentz, LMT, is a neuromuscular massage therapist specializing in postural analysis and problem-solving massage. Karen Lang is a licensed massage therapist specializing in neuromuscular deep tissue and sports injuries. Tracie Bollinger, LMT, is a neuromuscular massage therapist who also does stress reduction sessions and Verna Kadrmas is a licensed reflexologist trained in hands, feet and ears.
Thorson joins BND
Rodney Thorson recently joined the Bank of North Dakota as a loan officer. Thorson is a graduate of the University of Mary with a bachelor of science in accounting and a minor in business administration. He also earned an AAS in farm and ranch management from Williston State College.

Rob Hoffman was voted on by his peers as October's Employee of the Month.He is a service support specialist working out of Bismarck and has been employed with them for seven years.
Ron Emter has earned October's Service Support Specialist of the Month. He has been employed with Midwest Business Systems for five years and has more than 28 years of experience.

Loren Japel, New York Life Insurance Co., has been named as a member of the company's 2008 Presidents Council, which held its 2008 meeting in Puerto Rico. Shawn Bergstrand has been named a member of the 2008 Executive Council, whose meeting was held in Seattle. Missy Ryan and Kelly Jahner have been named members of the 2008 Quality Council. The agents, along with five other agents, comprise the sales force of the local Bismarck New York Life office under the direction of Keith Ryan, partner.
Two hired
Ressler Chevrolet has added two members to its staff: Mike Kapla and Cody Jahner.
Kapla will be a finance and insurance consultant. His duties include working with local and national banks to help customers with terms and payments.
Jahner is a sales and leasing consultant. He has prior experience in sales and will assist customers in finding a vehicle.

Chris Whalen and Mark Griffin, sales representatives for the Kyocera copier and printer division of Fireside Office Solutions, recently attended a two-day sales training seminar in Sioux Falls, S.D. The training offered Kyocera authorized sales representatives information on the latest information on color technology, scanning to personal computer or e-mail, and other features dealing with scan, fax and print functions on all of the new machines introduced at the Kyocera National Dealer Conference in September.
Helm promoted
Tanner Helm was recently promoted to the newly created position of project manager at Cloverdale Foods Co. In this capacity, Helm will manage project development from initiation to closure, track and report on project milestones, and develop tools and best practices for project management and execution. Helm brings two years experience as Cloverdale's marketing assistant to this position.
Two re-elected
Municipal Court judges Mike Weyrauch of Ray and Thomas Goven of Valley City were recently re-elected to each serve three-year terms on the executive board of the North Dakota municpal judges association at its annual meeting and continuing education seminar. The annual seminar was sponsored by the North Dakota Supreme Court and held in Mandan on Oct. 13. The executive board is an advisory board for the municipal judges association, which is comprised of 76 judges throughout the state.
Pansegrau recertified
Medcenter One cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Timothy Pansegrau recently received vascular surgery recertification by the American Board of Surgery. To be certified by the American Board of Surgery means that a surgeon has met the highest standards of education, training and knowledge in the field of surgery.
Bertsch installed
Lonnie Bertsch, assistant professor at Bismarck State College, was installed as 2008-09 governor of the Dakotas, Manitoba and Minnesota District of Optimist International. Bertsch is a charter member of the local Missouri Valley Optimist Club of Bismarck-Mandan and the BSC Energy Club.

Meeting attended
Carol Winkler, chiropractor, recently attended the fall district meeting of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards held in Nevada. Representatives of 15 states were in attendance; the agenda included issue of national importance regarding chiropractic regulation.
