Two attend

Wilson Health Planning Collaborative co-chairs Bill Patrie of Bismarck and Ed Hall of Parshall received training at the Weatherhead School of Management on the campus of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. The session was titled "Igniting Positive Change Through Appreciative Inquiry" and was taught by Ron Fry. Patrie is the interim executive director of Northcountry Cooperative Development Fund and Hall is a professional engineer.

Bishop awarded

Toby Bishop, managing partner for New York Life for the North Dakota general office, recently was awarded two national trophies (Senior VP and View from the Top) at a recent company meeting for outstanding growth in the agency for 2007.

Helfrich hired

Catholic Charities North Dakota hired Vicki Helfrich to the staff in the Bismarck office. Helfrich will provide secretarial support as well as handle receptionist duties. She previously worked as a claims analyst-customer service representative at Coventry Health Care in Bismarck.

Lloyd hired

North Dakota Guaranty & Title Co. has hired Minda Lloyd as title insurance associate. Lloyd has an extensive background in appraisals, loans and title requirements. She will be a licensed title insurance agent and will work out of the Bismarck office.

American Bank news

American Bank Center says David Mason will be a business banking officer. Mason has been the Sitka branch manager for First National Bank Alaska, a position he held for four years.

Melissa Mischel was hired as service assistant for Investment Centers of America. She is a graduate of Dickinson State University.

Jacenta Wipf was hired as operations support. Wipf is a graduate of the University of Mary with degrees in accounting and business administration.

American Insurance Center hired Shannon Schneider as a commercial insurance agent. Schneider previously worked as a retail sales manager for Alltel Wireless Concepts.

American Trust Center hired Erin Roach-Fiedler as operations assistant. Roach-Fiedler has been employed with American Bank Center in Bismarck since 2002 in the bookkeeping-operations support area.

Kayla Bodvig was hired as operations assistant. Bodvig has been employed with Northland Financial in Bismarck since July 2006 as a loan account representative.

American Insurance Center says Christina Opp will be relocating to the Bismarck office as an account technician. She joined the Dickinson office of American Insurance Center in September 2007.

Three awarded

Lonnie Berg has earned May's Digital Solutions Specialist of the Month for Midwest Business Systems. Berg has worked with Midwest Business Systems for six months.

Darrell Torkelson was voted on by his peers as May's Employee of the Month. He is a service support specialist at Midwest Business Systems and has been employed with them for four years.

Jerome Jaszkowiak has earned May's Service Support Specialist of the Month. He has worked with Midwest Business Systems for three years.

Two attend

Linnette Adamski and Sarah Berreth, registered nurses with Medcenter One's rheumatology department, recently attended the Good Clinical Practices conference and certification in Seattle. The conference taught the role and responsibility of each member in the clinical research process, ways to document research and its review process.

Shepersky hired

AMVETS Post 9 in Bismarck has hired Brad Shepersky as the general manager for its club operations. Shepersky is originally from Moffit and attended school in Moffit and Hazelton. He started his career in the restaurant business at the Tops Cafe in Sterling and moved to Bismarck in 1985, where he worked at Cary's Kitchen, The Kensington and the Oasis. In 1999, he was hired by the AMVETS and held various positions, including head chef, before being named general manager.

Ads awarded

Mobile Ads was awarded first place nationwide in Sign Business Magazine's "Auto Art Contest" featured in the June 2008 Issue. Mobile Ads artist Stephen Sinek was awarded first prize for designing a full wrap for Valley City State University student activity bus, which Mobile Ads printed and installed.

Matthews hired

Kranzler Kingsley Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations and K2 Interactive recently hired Jason Matthews as public relations director.

Matthews has experience in communications, politics and non-profit management. Before joining Kranzler Kingsley, he worked as alumni coordinator for the Bismarck State College Alumni Association. As public relations director, Matthews will spearhead the agency's public relations initiatives and will work with clients on publicity, message management, issue advocacy and media relations.

Mathern certified

Randy Mathern of Comfort Zone Heating and Air in Bismarck is now accredited by the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association. Ground Source Heat Pump systems use modern technologies to harness the stored energy in the ground.

Heck hired

Medcenter One says Melanie Heck is the new manager of Medcenter One's Walk-in Clinic North and Walk-in Clinic Downtown. Heck, who is originally from Dickinson, has worked in management in the customer service industry for more than 20 years. Heck has a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Mary.

Five hired

Tanner Broderick has joined the Applied Engineering team as a design engineer. He will be providing engineering services in the Bismarck office.

Adam Horntvedt has joined as a summer engineering intern. He is attending the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where he is pursuing a bachelor's in science in mechanical engineering.

Craig Stensland has joined the Applied Engineering team as a design engineer. He will be providing engineering services to AE customers in the Bismarck area.

Jesi Ehrhorn has joined the Applied Engineering team as a design engineer. He attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, where he received his bachelor's in science in mechanical engineering.

Jon Edeen has joined the Applied Engineering team as a design engineer. He will be providing engineering services to AE customers in the Bismarck area.

Three hired

Three new employees have joined the Mandan-based National Information Solutions Cooperative. Matthew Reed and Alex Halvorson have both joined NISC as software specialists in the telecom solutions division. Reed and Halvorson will be responsible for research, design and development of software systems. Halvorson is slated to graduate in December with a degree in computer information systems from the University of Mary.

Carol Prince also joined NISC as a commercial and industrial bill processor within the corporate services division. Prince will be responsible for the accurate and timely entry of all invoices, bill resolution and analysis and improvement of bill processing techniques.

Fisher joined

Michael Fisher joined Job Service North Dakota as a project manager in the information technology area in the Bismarck central office.

For the past three years, Fisher sold insurance and annuities as a field agent for Knights of Columbus. He also has four years of project management experience with the Department of Human Services.

Gerving hired

Gate City Bank has hired Jeff Gerving as a senior mortgage loan officer. Gerving is based at Gate City Bank's Downtown Bismarck office. Gerving attended Dickinson State University and has more than 18 years of mortgage lending experience, including 10 years previously with Gate City Bank.

Morgan certified

Robin Morgan, account manager at Agency MABU, recently became certified at the Second Wind Certified Account Manager College in Chicago. At the college, Morgan participated in seminars on account service, strategic agency planning, proposal writing and presentation techniques; she successfully passed a certification exam. Morgan is responsible for project management, client consultation, public relations, market research and writing for all types of media.

Training completed

Rita Bartholomew, compliance investigator with the North Dakota Department of Labor, recently completed a five-week Fair Housing Assistance Program Investigator Course through the Department of Housing and Urban Development's National Fair Housing Training Academy.

Program completed

Michael Stein and Annette Sabot of the Securian Financial Advisors of ND Inc. have successfully completed the Certified in Long-Term Care designation program. The CLTC program was created to provide financial service professionals with the tools needed to help their clients discuss and create a plan for long-term care.
